Sponsorship
We believe that one of the responsibilities of God’s people is to care for widows, orphans, and those who have been marginalized by the economic and social systems of the world.
We strongly believe that by empowering African children through education, you enable them to break the cycle of poverty into which they are born.
When you sponsor a child in Africa through KTF, you will help a child in need move from just surviving to thriving.
We want every child in our sponsorship programs to:
- Have and Enjoy good health
- Be educated for life
- Experience the love of God and also their neighbors
- Be cared for and protected fully
- And finally be participating in their community
As the sponsor of a child, you will get to love them, pray for them, encourage them, and be part of a community of people who support their wellbeing.
It is always life-changing when the children know that they have sponsors overseas who care deeply for them. It can also be even more life-changing for you to build a relationship with these children and even visit them.

How Does Child Sponsorship Work?
Sponsoring a child in Kenya through KTF is a very simple and incredibly rewarding process. It takes a matter of minutes to sign up to a holistic sponsorship plan which will change a child’s life forever. Our grassroots-run organization invests 100% of all child sponsorship into holistic education programmes for the children in our program whilst providing a personal and interactive sponsorship experience for our sponsors. Here is how it works:
STEP 1: Children Awaiting Sponsorship
We have an elaborate profile catalog system of children currently awaiting education sponsorship to enable them to join KTF education programmes. Children are selected after consultation with local educational institutions and an assessment of household income, vulnerability, attendance, attitude and parental/guardian commitment.
STEP 2: Select A Sponsorship Plan
Select a child sponsorship option which works for you. KTF offers child sponsorship plans ranging from 50USD to 70USDper month. Each sponsorship option funds a different level of support for the sponsored child/student and provides different amounts of feedback to the sponsors
Whilst we prefer sponsors to support children for as long as possible, there is no official minimum term of sponsorship. Unless in exceptional circumstances, KTF supports all sponsored children until they complete their schooling, usually at the age of 18.
STEP 3: Contact KTF
Contact KTF by email: info@keepthefellowship.org with your preferred sponsorship option and we will reply with the profile of a child/student currently awaiting sponsorship and payment instructions within 24 hours. Please feel free to include any questions you might have regarding the sponsorship process.
STEP 4: Set Up Sponsorship Payment
If you are happy to proceed with the sponsorship, please set up the monthly standing order or annual sponsorship payment and contact KTF to confirm. In the meantime, we will arrange the sponsorship and contact you when the first payment arrives.
STEP 5: Sponsored Child/student Starts School
Once this process is complete, the sponsored child/ student will start his or her schooling and receive school tuition, transportation, school uniform and equipment as well as spiritual nourishment over the weekends
STEP 6: Updates, Correspondence & Visits
Depending on the sponsorship option selected, sponsors receive regular updates on the progress of the sponsored child/student including termly school reports, photos albums and posts on the KTF website and social media platforms. Sponsors can even interact with the sponsored children/students via email and visit them at KTF Centre, later on in the sponsorship.
The KTF staff are also happy to purchase Christmas/Birthday Cards & Gifts for the sponsored children/students on behalf of their sponsors.
MTEP (Mercy Train Empowerment Program )
This is an Integrated Empowerment program for predominantly women of all ages in the Community. This project aims at providing them with trainings that empower them for their daily life and their future, such as practical vocational training, family planning and personal hygiene.
Depending on their talents, experiences and professional goals the women are clustered into groups for individual training on, e.g. subsistence agriculture, basket making, embroidery, soap making, catering, saloon work or tailoring. They are assisted to develop their own project ideas, save through KTF riziki Chama savings and loans platform and raise their own startups through it.
To get started they get the needed starting material, e.g. tailoring machines, cloth, sewing thread, sisal etc.. Through this they are able to secure basic income and have savings that makes them financially independent in the long term.
Project example:
Soap Making project- This project aims at training women in soap making., in which they produce multi-purpose soap for their own use as well as for sale. The soap is filled in empty water bottles that are sold for about 110 KES (1 USD) each.
We are looking for funds to realize the initial investments, e.g. to buy these machines, raw materials for these economic empowerment projects. In the long-term the project should pay for itself and should continue without any external help.
Mercy Train Distribution Program
KTF helps vulnerable families and communities meet their basic food and nutrition needs by distributing food to them.
Many Families have exhausted every means they have to survive because food prices have tripled and even quadrupled in Kenya today making it almost impossible for families to buy more than one meal a day.
To assist in this difficult time, KTF endeavors to help mitigate these challenges by providing some food aid or rations these vulnerable groups like widows, the elderly, and orphans regularly and also on major Christian events or holidays in the Christian calendar e.g. Easter and Christmas
We currently are a blessing to about 300 needy and vulnerable families in our community
Our budget goal for this noble program is 10000usd per quarter. If you wish to help bring physical and spiritual relief to this suffering part of the world, please click below to give a contribution. Your support will be a blessing.
